Terms of Service

Last updated: September 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using HallPass, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.

2. The Service

HallPass helps fans discover conventions, save favorites, plan budgets and trip preparation, organize cosplays, find nearby places, and keep convention memories. The service is available as a web application and an Android app.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use HallPass. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Some conventions listed in HallPass are intended for adult audiences, so the service is offered to adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 (see our Privacy Policy).

3a. User Content

The board lets signed-in users publish posts and replies that other people can read. By posting you agree to the Community Rules, which are part of these terms. You are responsible for what you post. You keep ownership of your content and give HallPass a license to display it within the service.

  • Objectionable content, as defined in the Community Rules, includes harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, spam, scams, selling, and posting another person's private information.
  • Content may be refused before publication, held before it becomes visible, or removed after user reports. Accounts with repeated removals may lose board access, temporarily or permanently, while the rest of the service keeps working.
  • Anyone can report a post or reply from inside the app. False or abusive reporting can pause an account's ability to report.
  • You can delete your own posts and replies at any time. Deleted content stays in our records only as long as needed to review reports and enforce these terms.
  • Appeals go through the feedback box on your profile.

4. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with anyone.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse the platform is not permitted.

5. Free Service

HallPass is free to use. This release does not sell subscriptions, require payment, or place planning features behind a paywall. If that model changes in the future, we will update these Terms and provide notice before any paid service is offered.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use HallPass to:

  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
  • Send spam or unsolicited messages.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform without our written permission.
  • Impersonate another person, convention, or organization.
  • Post offensive, hateful, or illegal content in feedback, captions, notes, or profile information.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines at our discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Convention listings and any retained legacy schedule records may be sourced from publicly available information. We do not claim ownership of third-party convention data. Convention names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners.
  • Your personal data, including saved conventions, budgets, cosplay plans, prep checklists, memories, and retained legacy schedule records, belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of user-created content.
  • The HallPass name, logo, branding, and original platform code are the intellectual property of HallPass and may not be used without permission.

8. Disclaimers

HallPass is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Specifically:

  • Convention details, dates, venues, and retained legacy schedule records are subject to change by organizers. We do our best to keep information current, but we cannot guarantee accuracy.
  • We are not responsible for changes, cancellations, or issues caused by third-party convention organizers.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HallPass and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or at the time of suspension.
  • You may delete your account from the Profile screen. Instructions and an email alternative are available on our account deletion page. Active account data is removed when deletion succeeds; processor backups may take up to 30 days to expire.
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitations of liability and intellectual property) will remain in effect.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you have a dispute with us, you agree to first contact us through the in-app feedback form and give us 30 days to work with you to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will identify the latest revision. Unless applicable law requires different notice or timing, changes are effective when posted. Continued use of HallPass after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those Terms.

13. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, reach out through the SUGGESTIONS feedback button available on any page — messages go straight to the team.
