Community rules

Last updated: September 8, 2026

The board is for people going to conventions: questions, meetups, ride and room shares, cosplay help, and general con talk. Reading is open to everyone. Posting takes an account and a handle.

1. What is welcome

  • Questions about a con, a venue, a city, or how something works.
  • Meetups, photoshoots, and group plans.
  • Ride and room shares. Sort out money between yourselves; HallPass is not part of the deal.
  • Cosplay builds, materials, repairs, and advice.
  • Blunt opinions and banter. Disagreeing is fine.

2. What gets removed

  • Harassment, threats, or attacks on a person or a group.
  • Sexual content. Anything sexual involving minors is reported to the authorities.
  • Spam, advertising, scams, ticket resale, and selling of any kind.
  • Posting someone else's personal information.
  • Content from an account that is under a suspension or ban.

3. What happens when a rule is broken

  • A clear violation is refused and never published. A borderline post or reply is held and hidden from everyone but you until it is published or removed.
  • Anyone can report a post or reply. Enough reports from different accounts hide the item until it is removed or restored.
  • Two removals in 30 days pause an account's board access for a week. A third pause is permanent. The rest of HallPass keeps working.
  • Reports are not a weapon: an account whose reports keep getting dismissed loses reporting for 30 days.
  • You can delete your own posts and replies at any time.

4. Appeals

If something of yours was refused or removed and you think that is wrong, tell us through the feedback box on your profile.

5. Your handle

Handles are unique, 3 to 20 characters, lowercase letters, numbers, and underscore. They show on everything you post. Handles that impersonate HallPass staff are reserved.
