Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
HallPass ("we," "our," or "us") is a convention planning platform built for fans. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about the data we collect and how we use it. This policy explains our practices in plain language.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to provide and improve the service:
- Account information — your email address and display name when you sign up.
- Your content — conventions you save, schedule entries, budget data, meetups, photos, and any other content you create within the app.
- Usage data — anonymized, aggregated data such as page views and load times to help us improve the platform. This data does not identify you personally.
- Feedback you send — if you use the suggestions/feedback form, we store your message and, if you choose to include one, your email address. You can send feedback without signing in.
- Notification subscriptions — if you turn on push notifications, we store the push token your browser or device generates so we can deliver them. Turning notifications off removes it.
- Approximate location for nearby results — if you choose the "Near Me" feature on the website, your browser supplies coordinates that are sent securely to HallPass to sort nearby conventions. They are not saved to your profile or retained as a saved location, although routine hosting and security logs may temporarily process request information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core service: building schedules, tracking budgets, and coordinating with friends.
- To send notifications you have opted into, like schedule reminders and convention updates.
- To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized usage analysis.
- To process payments if you subscribe to a paid plan.
3. Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored securely on servers hosted in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We follow industry-standard security practices and regularly review our infrastructure.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, active account data is removed when deletion succeeds. Processor backups and disaster-recovery copies may take up to 30 days to expire. Payment records may be retained as required by law.
4. Sharing
- We do not sell your personal data. Full stop.
- Shared schedules and group features are strictly opt-in. Your schedule is private by default.
- We may share anonymized, aggregate data for research or reporting purposes. This data can never be traced back to you.
5. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services for hosting, authentication, payment processing, and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. We do not store your credit card information directly. We do not share your personal data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use minimal cookies, limited to what is necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We collect anonymized performance data to improve the platform. This data does not identify you personally and is not used to track you across other websites.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct any inaccurate information on your account.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
You can permanently delete your account from the Profile screen in the HallPass app or website. Step-by-step instructions and an alternative email request method are available on our account deletion page. For other privacy requests, email kingsleyiokoli@gmail.com from the address on your account so we can verify the request. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
HallPass is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us through the SUGGESTIONS feedback button on any page and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated policies will be posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will identify the latest revision. Unless applicable law requires different notice or timing, changes are effective when posted.
